The Olustee Battlefield Historic State Park was the site of Florida’s biggest civil war battle in 1864, when 10,000 men fought in a pine forest. It became the state’s first official historic site in 1912.

These days, there’s a picnic area, plus a mile-long walking trail. The trail has interpretive signs that describe what happened in the battle and where.
