Columbus GA to Augusta GA drive: Distance, time & best stops

Columbus is something of an army city, with the massive Fort Moore base being a major employer. It’s no surprise to see its major attractions fit that theme, either. The National Civil War Naval Museum and the National Infantry Museum fit the military template. The latter is more interesting, and comes with an IMAX cinema.

Less shooty is the Coca Cola Space Science Center, which has a planetarium and flight simulators.

Augusta is, famously, the home of the US Masters golf tournament.

Augusta’s top attractions are the Augusta Museum of History, the Laurel and Hardy Museum and the Augusta National Golf Club. You can also take a jetski tour along the Savannah River or take a stroll along the garden-lined Augusta Riverwalk.
